Exploring the Rock Maze at Cherokee Rock Village, Leesburg, Alabama

Cherokee Rock Village is a really cool labyrinth of large sandstone rocks and boulders on the edge of Lookout Mountain above Weiss Lake, near Leesburg, Alabama. The park features tons of beautiful camp sites and amazing view points, and plentiful rock climbing opportunities. There is a 1.5 mile long trail through the rocks in AllTrails, but don’t stress about sticking to it (which is hard). I recommend that you just relax and wander through the rocks at your own pace. You’re never going to get too lost (the park just isn’t that big) and you can stumble onto the most amazing features and chat with the many rock climbers as you go. At the end of the trail is an accessible viewing platform that you can go to without even paying to enter into the park. So no excuses! Go check out this gorgeous park.
