O Buffalo! Alan Doyle & The Beautiful Beautiful Band + Bandits On The Run, Already Dancing Tour

Bandits On The Run 14:50 / Paddy Murphy 19:45 / O Canada Crowd Singalong 22:47 / Pity The Poor People In Pittsburgh & Take Us Home 23:40 / Ordinary Day crowd snippets 27:52 Not the smoothest vid I've ever done - I was over pretty far stage right, had a head to try to shoot over, and damn the lights were bright - but no amount of inexpert camera-handling can diminish the delight that was this show in Buffalo. When diehard hockey-loving Buffalonians come out to a show on the same night their beloved Sabres are playing a Stanley Cup Playoff game at home, that means they're choosing something (someone) equally beloved to them, if not perhaps even a bit more so. I've been seeing Buffalo turn out for Alan at GBS shows and his own shows for 24 years now, and in all those years those crowds have never failed to impress me with their support and enthusiasm. There was so much to love about this show - hockey chatter, celebrations of international neighbours, sweet children (I especially loved that last little fist bump with the final, lingering kiddo), grateful parents, gorgeous harmonies, more hockey talk, more brilliant examples of how international neighbours should treat each other, and of course lots of singing, clapping, dancing and celebration. Did I mention the love? Buffalo, in these current times where so many things feel fragile and uncertain, you did not, you do not, disappoint. (Let's just try to hold that thought if it does turn out the Sabres take on the Habs!) Buffalo State Performing Arts Centre, Buffalo NY. May 1, 2026
