I make the most un-aesthetic cooking videos ever... and I kind of love it. I don't have perfectly styled countertops or matching linen aprons. Sometimes I'm not wearing makeup. Sometimes I'm not even wearing a bra. I'm usually just in my mumu, grabbing my camera, and showing you what's cooking. My hope isn't to create a picture-perfect kitchen. My hope is that someone who's missing their mom, their aunt, their grandma, or their tía stumbles across one of my videos and thinks, “Oh my gosh... this feels like someone set up a camera in Tía's kitchen." I cook the way so many of us grew up watching someone we love cook—without measuring every spice, tasting as I go, talking to myself, and making food from the heart.
