전쟁 속에서도 마음을 잃지 않은 길, 사명대사의 사명당집
There was a silence deeper than a sword, and the life of Samyeongdaesa demonstrates a path of not losing compassion even in the midst of war. In this video, we follow the life of Samyeongdaesa Yujeong, known as a Joseon monk and a commander of righteous monks, and the resonance of the Samyeongdangjip he left behind. A monk who cultivated asceticism and scholarship in a mountain temple did not turn a blind eye to the suffering people when the Imjin War broke out. He led monk soldiers to defend the nation, and after the war ended, he traveled to Japan to work for the repatriation of prisoners of war. However, Samyeongdaesa's path is not merely the story of a war hero. His writings retain the wounds of war, his concern for the people, and the moonlit stillness of the mountain temple. They contain the heart of a practitioner who, even in moments when fighting was necessary, sought not to be swept away by hatred but to look correctly at what needed to be protected. We, too, encounter small wars in our daily lives. Faced with a single unfair remark, conflicts in relationships, and anger that does not easily subside, our hearts become as sharp as a sword. At such times, Samyeongdaesa's life quietly asks: “Am I fighting out of anger, or am I protecting to save someone?” Compassion is not weak resignation, but the courage to choose what must be done even amidst fear. Great spiritual practice may not be about avoiding the world, but about establishing the center of the mind even in the midst of collapse. If you are clashing with someone today, try to remember this. There is a heart to protect before the enemy you must defeat. Courage and compassion are not separate paths; ultimately, they originate from a single heart. #Samyeongdaesa #Samyeongdangjip #Yujeong #ImjinWar #BuddhistStories #BuddhistMeditation #MindStudy #Compassion #Practice #KoreanBuddhism #JoseonDynasty #Meditation #Healing #LifeAdvice
