The written instructions for this shawl are as follows: Set up Row 1: k2, YO, k1 x four, s1-wyif [11 sts] Row 2: k3, p2, kYOk, p2, k2, s1-wyif [13 sts] Row 3: k2, YO, k4, YO, k1, YO, k4, YO, k1, s1-wyif [17 sts] Row 4: k3, p5, kYOk, p5, k2, s1-wyif [19 sts] Body of Shawl Row 1: k2, YO, k1, s1-wyif, k1 rep to center st, YO, k1, YO, k1, s1-wyif, k1 to two sts before end of row, YO, k1, s1-wyif [+ 4 sts] Row 2: k3, purl to center st, kYOk, purl to three sts before end of row, k2, s1-wyif [+ 2 sts] Row 3: k2, YO, k1, s1-wyif, k1 rep to one st before center st, k1, YO twice, k2, s1-wyif, k1 to two sts before end of row, YO, k1, s1-wyif [+ 4 sts] Row 4: k3, purl to center st, kYOk, purl to three sts before end of row, k2, s1-wyif [+ 2 sts] Repeat Rows 1 - 4 of body until the shawl is as large as you desire and then bind off using a stretchy method.
