Kia Seltos and Chevrolet Trailblazer comparison // Which do you like?

The Kia Seltos offers two 4-cyliner engines, the 2L with a CVT has 146 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The top SX trim which we tested gets a 1.6L turbo with a 7 speed dual clutch automatic transmission. It has 175 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The Chevrolet Trailblazer offers two different 3-cylinder turbo-charged engines. The FWD 1.2L engine with a CVT, has 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft torque. The AWD 1.3L engine with a 9 speed automatic transmission has 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft torque. The one you see here is the RS trim.The Seltos AWD comes standard with Halogen headlights, 17 inch wheels, 18 inches wheels are available on the top trim, a spare tire, body coloured and heated power adjustable side view mirrors, rear spoiler and roof rails. LED taillights are available on the EX trim, two down from the top trim and LED headlights are available on the EX Premium one down from the top trim. The Trailblazer comes standard with halogen headlights and taillights, 17 inch wheels, 18 inch come standard on the top trim, a spare tire and body coloured door handles. As for heated side view mirrors you have to move up a trim to get those. The Trailblazer looks sporty with the RS model we tested, I like the two-tone colour combination with the red roof and the black colour, there are other colour combinations you can get as well. The Activ Trim gives you more of a utility vibe like an off-road look. The Activ comes with 17” wheels and the RS 18” wheels. The Seltos comes standard with heated front seats, an 8 inch display, an optional 10.25 inch is available on the top two trims, a 3.5 inch driver display, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, remote key-less entry. If you want features like a heated steering wheel, leather wrapped shift knob, synthetic leather and a sunroof, you will have to move up to the next trim which is the EX. The second from the top trim, the EX Premium will get you heated rear seats and air-cooled front seats. A head-up display is available on the top trim along with a Bose Premium Sound system. On the other hand, one of the most impressive things about this Trailblazer is the technology. It comes standard with a 7 inch touchscreen, 8” is optional and includes, Bluetooth connectivity for two devices at the same time, wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto; a 3.5 inch driver display and cloth seats. Wireless charging is also available. If you want the panoramic sunroof and the power liftgate, it will cost you almost $2,000. Heated front seats are available on the LT trim and above. The Seltos and Trailblazer are a great comparison, their interiors are both well designed. Although, the Seltos has a lot of plastic, we described it as plastic fantastic, the Trailblazer also has hard plastic but not as much as the Seltos, there are more mixed materials in the Trailblazer with beautiful red stitching thoughout the interior, including the shifter. It looks more upscale for this category. The Trailblazer has plenty of storage and one standout feature is a power tailgate, which is not offered by anyone else except the Mazda CX-30. Both are very spacious, plenty of headroom and legroom in the front and second rows. The cargo space in both is very useful, the seats fold down and provide plenty of room for all your gear.
