As I walked the streets after arriving in Laos, I felt the gap between the rich and the poor was much wider than I had expected. While there were glamorous buildings and expensive cars, there were also many people still struggling to make ends meet. I came to Laos with the desire to share Korean food and do some small acts of volunteer work. During my visit, I met a Korean restaurant owner who introduced me to a place called the "Yojo Center," which I visited in person. Hearing stories of people who started from scratch and are now helping many others, I realized once again that there are truly many people in the world who live quietly serving others. That made me feel even more reassured.
