TRIP REPORT | Biggest Storm Ever Seen! TOGA!! | WIZZAIR A321 | Vienna to Heraklion

Wizzair Trip Report flying from Vienna to Heraklion onboard one of the Wizzair Airbus A321 on crazy stormy morning in Vienna. The biggest storm I've ever seen at an airport. Already when we were at the boarding gate, it started to rain with huge intensity. During taxi, the storm cell arrived to the airport and several lightning strikes were visible prior departure. Several planes were waiting meanwhile at the holding points. The airport was closed for departures for some minutes. With the storm next to the airport, it's almost compulsory to use the full thrust available in takeoff, so in case any wind shear is encountered, the plane will be already at full thrust. And that was the case: the engine roar we experienced in this flight was extreme. Epic. Amazing. After a non-standard right turn, still over the runway and over the terminal, we escaped the area at max speed and thrust. After 10-15 minutes, we were clear of the storm and flying to the amazing island of Heraklion. I hope you will enjoy the video as I enjoyed recording and editing it.
