EBMT analysis: alloSCT may overcome FLT3-ITD risk in CBFB::MYH11-positive AML

Arnon Nagler, MD, Chaim Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Aviv, Israel, discusses findings from an analysis by the European Group for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) evaluating the prognostic impact of FLT3-ITD mutations in patients with CBFB::MYH11-positive acute myeloid leukemia (AML) undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT). Prof. Nagler highlights data suggesting that transplantation may overcome the adverse prognostic effect of FLT3 mutations in this favorable-risk AML subgroup.
