Fishing Beautiful Taylor Park Reservoir

I headed up to Taylor Park Reservoir chasing everything this lake has to offer — from giant lake trout and pike to stocked rainbow trout and brown trout. The plan was to cover water from the kayak and then slow things down from the bank to dial in a bite. We spent the day throwing big baits looking for a true giant… but the lake had other plans. Instead of monsters, the action came from stocked rainbows and a couple of quality brown trout that made the grind worth it. Even when the big fish don’t show up, this place delivers with unreal scenery, clear water, and nonstop opportunities. I break down what we tried, what worked, and what I’d change next time when targeting bigger fish at Taylor Park. 🔥 What’s in this video: 🚣 Kayak fishing Taylor Park Reservoir 🏞️ Bank fishing high mountain water 🎣 Throwing big baits for pike & lake trout 🐟 Catching stocked rainbow trout 🟤 Landing a couple of solid brown trout ✅ What you’ll learn: When to fish big baits vs downsizing How to approach multi-species lakes Adjusting when the bite doesn’t go as planned Tips for fishing from both kayak and shore If you’re into Colorado fishing, mountain reservoirs, and real fishing days (not just highlights), this one’s for you. 👉 Sometimes you chase giants… sometimes you just enjoy the grind and the view.
