In this video, I'll show you four of the most fascinating places beneath Nuremberg – from the mysterious Tucherkeller and the bunker at the Färbertor (Dyer's Gate) to the historic rock-cut cellars and the impressive art bunker beneath the Imperial Castle. Many of these structures were carved into the sandstone as early as the Middle Ages and later converted into shelters during World War II. While bombs fell on the city, thousands of people sought refuge in these subterranean systems. Some of these places are accessible today, while others remain hidden and are left to decay.
