Bad Writers Murdered Star Trek

I'm not a Star Trek fan. I have dabbled in the next generation, and I like Q, but I haven’t finished any Trek series. I set that up as a qualifier. I know the basics. Kirk. Spock. Picard. Shut up, Wesley. But I’m not a fan. And yet, having watched the first 4 episodes of Starfleet Academy. I’m able to come to this conversation as someone who has no dog in this fight. So you can take my words seriously when I say: Starfleet Academy is destroying 60 years of worldbuilding. I am not a fan, and I can see the damage being done. We’ve spent years watching entertainment companies systematically demolish franchises that people love. Star Wars. Lord of the Rings. Marvel. DC. Doctor Who. Even Star Trek. The pattern is always the same. New management comes in. They don't understand what made the property special. They chase demographics that don't care about the franchise. They alienate the fans who do. And then they wonder why everything falls apart.
