10 Reasons TV Shows are Garbage

I just finished watching Monarch: Legacy of Monsters on Apple TV+ in preparation for Season 2 coming out soon. This show is aggressively terrible. Hey, what’s the worst part of 99% of all Godzilla movies? Right, the people! Okay, we’re going to do a plot of just people you do not like and stretch it out over 10 episodes at 60 minutes apiece. That’s right. 10 hours. This is a 10-hour slogfest. We ended up skipping entire episodes and didn’t miss anything in the plot. Ten hours of your life—to tell a simple sci-fi story that wouldn’t have been enough as a 90-minute feature. Every episode gives you maybe two or three minutes of actual monster content. The rest is underdeveloped family drama, characters wandering around looking confused, and dialogue so thin that even the critics who liked the show couldn't defend it. This is a Godzilla show where, if you removed Godzilla entirely, nothing changes. Like, it would be all too easy to just take Godzilla out of this garbage; the plot can carry on the same. And in my rage and crash-out that my neighbors heard at 2am, I realized I had to talk about *it*—the problem or problems. Because Monarch isn't special with the amount of problems it has. All streaming television is garbage. It’s a waste of your time.
