S3E101 : On retrouve notre 4x4 au LAOS… mais tout a moisi !
📚 Our new book is now available for pre-order! 👉 https://dashbook.fr/book/france-malai... - - - - - 🚙 We're finally back in Laos after ten days in Thailand. After this well-deserved break, it's time to reunite with Peter, our 1980 Land Rover Series 3, which we left in a parking lot while we were away. But the reunion didn't go exactly as planned… When we opened the rooftop tent, a strong musty smell hit us immediately. With the heat and humidity of Laos, our sheets had completely gone moldy. An unpleasant surprise that reminded us how traveling in a campervan in tropical climates can sometimes present unexpected challenges. Fortunately, after several days of sitting idle, Peter started right up. What a relief! We can finally hit the road again, driving through the magnificent landscapes of Laos towards Vang Vieng, where fellow travelers we haven't seen for several weeks are waiting for us. This reunion is particularly moving. We meet up with several crews with whom we shared the incredible convoy crossing of China. After thousands of kilometers traveled together, mechanical mishaps, border crossings, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable memories, we are finally reunited once more. The atmosphere is fantastic. For several days, we live like one big family of travelers. Between board games, long discussions over meals, mechanical advice, exchanging itineraries, sharing travel anecdotes, bursts of laughter, and planning our next adventures, we fully enjoy these timeless moments. In this video, you'll also discover the unique atmosphere of Vang Vieng, one of Laos' most iconic locations, surrounded by spectacular karst mountains and some of the most beautiful landscapes in Southeast Asia. Traveling the world in a 4x4 isn't just about discovering new countries. It's also about forging incredible bonds with other travelers from all corners of the globe. Friendships that develop mile after mile, making this adventure even more special. 📍 On the agenda for this episode: ✔️ Returning to Laos after our stay in Thailand. ✔️ The unpleasant surprises caused by humidity in our rooftop tent. ✔️ Peter gets going again after several days of being out of commission. ✔️ The drive to Vang Vieng. ✔️ Reuniting with our fellow travelers. ✔️ Our Christmas celebrated together in Laos. ✔️ Community life among travelers. ✔️ Our discussions about the next leg of our round-the-world trip. 🌍 Our adventure has continued for several years now, taking us through Europe and Asia, always behind the wheel of our 1980 Land Rover Series 3. Our goal: to one day return to France after this incredible expedition, before setting off again for new horizons. ❤️ If you enjoy this adventure, please subscribe, give us a thumbs up, and share this video.
