No Chew Food for Soft Food and Puree Diets: Chicken Pot Pie
A no-chew version of a family favorite, chicken pot pie. Cracker or bread crumbs for topping Butter Olive oil 1 carrot, chopped 1/2 medium onion, chopped 2 small cloves of garlic, minced 1 whole chicken breast, pre-cooked & cubed Handful of frozen english peas For Gravy: 1 Tbs butter 1 Tbs olive oil 1 Cup milk or half & half Grind cracker or bread crumbs in blender or food processor. Saute carrot, onion, and garlic in skillet until soft; add cubed chicken and handful of frozen peas. Heat through, then let cool. For gravy, melt butter & olive oil in pan; add flour; whisk for about 2 minutes; add milk & whisk until thickened. Set aside while you puree the chicken mixture. Add gravy to pureed chicken mixture. Pour into small baking dishes, & sprinkle with bread or cracker crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Enjoy!
