Leon Leong - Making Room
‘Making Room’, the latest solo exhibition by Ipoh-born artist Leon Leong at Wei-Ling Gallery from 2 to 30 August 2025. Bringing together works created between 2017 and the present, the exhibition reflects Leong’s sustained interest in informal architecture, urban displacement, and the persistence of spatial memory. Across three pivotal bodies of work — The Floating World of Kampung Baru, Cracks in the Wall, and AISYALAM: The Tree Nation — Leong combines social critique with creative storytelling, weaving documentation and memory into layered narratives. In this video, the artist offers an intimate look at his process, sharing the ideas, research, and experiences that shaped the works on view.
