Pride Grace and the Way of Humility
There are some sins we recognize the moment they rise in us. Anger feels like anger. Fear feels like fear. Greed has a recognizable shape. But pride is different. Pride can feel like wisdom. It can feel like principle. It can even feel like righteousness. That is what makes it so dangerous. It can live in a person for years while wearing the clothing of virtue. And because we cannot fight what we cannot see, pride becomes one of the hardest sins to confront honestly—especially when it is alive in us. We must learn to recognize it, especially in its quieter forms—in the ordinary habits of people who love Jesus and yet, often without realizing it, begin to place themselves at the center of their own story
