EVERYTHING IS READY… NOW THE BIG WORK BEGINS (Transpennine Route Upgrade)

Major engineering work is about to get underway across the TransPennine Route Upgrade, and this update takes a final look at the route before another busy weekend begins. Colne Bridge Road has now reopened following the installation of the new bridge deck, with only the final surfacing works remaining. Meanwhile, attention turns to Leeds Road where overnight utility diversions are back underway ahead of further highway reconstruction. Along the railway, new ballast, sleepers and track formation continue to take shape between Deighton and Huddersfield, with progress visible at Deighton Station, Hillhouse Sidings and Fieldhouse Lane. Engineering activity is also expected to increase around Huddersfield Station as canopy steelwork preparations continue.
