Experience the spectacular Festival Parade: 'A Light Between Rains' at the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA 2026). This immersive parade journey transformed the area between Esplanade Park and Victoria Theatre into a moving celebration of art, symbolism and audience participation. Throughout the procession, the five symbolic elements were introduced one by one — Earth, Water, Fire, Wind and Light — each interpreted through large-scale puppetry, movement and performance. Earth was dramatised through a giant egg-like puppet creature with extended hands, while Water took the form of a long flowing creature performed in the style of a dragon dance procession. Fire was represented symbolically through a towering puppet figure surrounded by energetic performers and choreography, creating a powerful theatrical atmosphere without the use of actual fire effects. Wind introduces another transition in the moving performance as the parade approaches the Festival Village near Victoria Theatre. The parade invited audiences to walk together alongside the performers, becoming part of the experience itself as the journey unfolded through Singapore’s civic district. The finale focused on the symbolic element of Light, where audience members carried building blocks and participated in constructing buildings together, transforming spectators into active participants in the final performance segment.
