The Osprey-Project in Østfold, Norway - The Ireland connection (Fiskeørnprosjektet i Østfold)

Ti norske fiskeørner til Irland. Sommeren 2025 ble det sendt ti unge fiskeørner fra Norge til Irland som del av et introduksjonsprogram. Målet er å gjenetablere en levedyktig bestand av fiskeørn i Irland. Ørnene hentes forsiktig i Norge før de fraktes til Irland, der de vil tilvennes det nye området og slippes fri. Prosjektet er et samarbeid mellom Fiskeørnprosjektet i Østfold og irske naturvernorganisasjoner, og skal bidra til å styrke både det biologiske mangfoldet og bevisstheten om bevaring av rovfugl i Europa. English: In the summer of 2025, ten young ospreys were sent from Norway to Ireland as part of an introduction program. The goal is to re-establish a viable population of ospreys in Ireland. The birds are carefully collected in Norway before being transported to Ireland, where they will acclimatize to their new environment before being released. The project is a collaboration between the Osprey Project in Østfold and Irish conservation organizations, aiming to strengthen both biodiversity and awareness of raptor conservation in Europe. The Ospreys already left to Ireland. We will never post correct dates when storing precious birds before they are transported. All work is approved by the Norwegian Food Safety Authority .
