Drug Suspect Leads Troopers on Dangerous High-Speed Chase

On February 4, 2025, at approximately 5:17 A.M., Florida Highway Patrol Trooper Trent D. Sistrunk observed a dark-colored SUV traveling on Interstate 75 in Alachua County displaying what appeared to be a fraudulent paper registration tag. Trooper Sistrunk initiated a traffic stop; however, the driver, later identified as Dimy Paraison, refused to comply and accelerated away from law enforcement. The pursuit quickly escalated as Paraison drove at high speeds along Interstate 75 and onto local roadways in an apparent attempt to evade capture. Troopers reported the suspect vehicle committed multiple traffic violations during the pursuit, creating a significant danger to other motorists traveling through the area. Due to the suspect's continued refusal to stop, Florida Highway Patrol personnel employed multiple Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuvers in an effort to bring the pursuit to a safe conclusion. Initial attempts were unsuccessful, and the driver continued fleeing. After an extended pursuit, troopers successfully forced the SUV off the roadway, where it came to rest in a ditch. The vehicle was then surrounded by law enforcement officers, and both occupants were taken into custody without further incident. Following the arrest, troopers conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, law enforcement located multiple illegal narcotics, including: Marijuana PCP (Phencyclidine) Synthetic cannabinoids The discovery of the controlled substances resulted in additional criminal charges beyond those related to the vehicle pursuit. Paraison was arrested and charged with multiple offenses related to: Fleeing and attempting to elude law enforcement Possession of illegal narcotics Traffic and registration violations Additional charges stemming from the pursuit and recovered contraband Keeshanda Johnson Passenger Keeshanda Johnson was also arrested following the discovery of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. The pursuit concluded after Florida Highway Patrol troopers successfully disabled the fleeing vehicle through PIT maneuvers and forced it into a roadside ditch. Both occupants were taken into custody, and evidence recovered from the SUV led to narcotics-related charges. No serious injuries to law enforcement officers or civilians were reported during the incident. The case remains part of Florida Highway Patrol's ongoing efforts to combat fleeing suspects and illegal drug activity on Florida roadways. Information regarding the pursuit and arrests was released by Florida Highway Patrol and reported by multiple Florida news outlets. In Pain? Call Shane!
