EP135 Late May Bank Hoilday

Late May Bank Holiday Episode 135 contains three days at the barn working on RT3461. As work has progressed on the reinstatement of the Rexine panels, to keep the flow going its now time to finish the ceiling panels. They were cut to size and test fitted in December 24, removed, painted and stored at the back of the shed. The intention being that the panels would receive one final coat of paint of finish them before reinstatement. That’s the plan anyway – and things don’t always go to plan! We are in the middle of a heat wave with records being set for this time of year. Whereas that’s great for drying paint, we are in a rural area and its also great for nature. Some of which makes its way into the barn including small bugs, flies and worse seed spores from the fields outside. I started painting in the morning and most of the panels had already dried before the problems began. I had purposely left the big panels to last as they needed to rest on the trestles. Unfortunately these were damaged and will need to be repainted. For fun we test the weight of two nearside window pans. Not scientifically of course! But these a clear weight difference between the RT and the RM window frames.
