My beautiful rural morning starts with sweeping and washing the courtyard together with my husband, full of love. Every morning, we go to the garden and water the orange, tangerine, persimmon, and many other fruit trees that we planted ourselves. We always clean around them—weeds slow down the fruit growth, so they must be regularly trimmed and weeded.In the garden, I found the ripest, most perfect pumpkin. Fried pumpkin with sugar has a nostalgic taste for me and is incredibly delicious and beloved by the kids.I made traditional koozeh yogurt (thick, creamy yogurt) in a clay pot using fresh cow’s milk. For lunch, I prepared our famous local stew called “Baghala Ghatogh”—made with local fava beans, fresh dill, fresh garlic, and village eggs. The rice from our village is considered the best rice in the country; when cooked in a clay pot over an open fire, it has an amazing aroma and fragrance. Smoked fish: a special kind of fish prepared the traditional way in our village, smoked with the wood of specific trees—it pairs perfectly with this stew and tastes heavenly. I placed some of it in a small bowl on top of the rice so it would cook further with the steam.I served it with my homemade village pickles (the ones you’ve seen in my previous videos)—they go wonderfully with this authentic stew.With the whole family, we spread the lunch tablecloth on the green grass, with a heavenly view of our little rural cottage, and enjoyed our meal together.
