UPITN 3/2/80 THAI AND KHMER TROOPS ON BORDER BETWEEN THAILAND AND CAMBODIA

(3 Feb 1980) Vietnamese forces in western Cambodia mounted a new offensive against Pol Pot guerrillas. Since the offensive was launched the fighting has been getting closer to the Thai border. By Tuesday 29 January, Thai military sources said fighting was going on only one kilometre from the border.
