What Justice Really Means - Judging with a Scale, Sword and Blindfolds

Most people think of justice as something external; a situation is either just or unjust, fair or unfair. But justice is also about the way you judge. How you judge the outside world is a reflection of how just you are as a person. Since the ancient world, the idea of justice was personified by a goddess. It was Ma'at in Ancient Egypt, Themis in Ancient Greece, and today, they are known as Lady Justice. Lady Justice holds a scale, a sword and at times she wears a blindfold. She has several other symbols, each of which bears powerful lessons. In this episode, we will explore the history of lady Justice. We will go through each of her symbols to understand what it takes to judge with justice. Eventually, we will see how the evolution of her symbols reflect how we have developed our understanding of justice over time. Thank you for liking and sharing this video!
