Stone Circles of Beara: Uragh
Uragh stone circle is undoubtedly one of the most striking circles in the Beara peninsula. It should definitely be on anyone's list of places to visit in Beara (or indeed Kerry, as it is in the Kerry part of the peninsula). It is in an isolated region, between between Cloonee Lough and Lough Inchiquin, looking towards the Caha Mountains and Gleninchaquin Waterfall. A five stone circle, with a large sentinel stone standing guard over it. Uragh is a special place, one which has its own special reward. #StandingStoneSunday #Kerry #ancienthistory #ancientireland #archaeology #megalithic #stonecircle #discoverireland #irishhistory #bronzeage #ireland #wildatlanticway #standingstone #ancient
