Ierapetra ( Ιεράπετρα in Greek) is a city on the southern coast of Crete, Greece. It is the most southern city of Europe with a very warm climate. Even during winter the temperature is never lower than 20 degrees. The city has a small middle age center with a Venetian castle, a metropolis church and the house of Napoleon where he stayed before his siege of Egypt. The city has also some Ottoman remains. Ierapetra and its region has approximately 30,000 inhabitants.
