L'importance de l'attention dans l'éducation | Anne-Marie Lafont | TEDxToulouseBusinessSchool
Attention. This is the core value that Anne-Marie Lafont strives to impart. Why attention? Because a lack of attention cost her brother his life. Anne-Marie is a high school French teacher and bases her entire approach to education on the innovative way we pay attention to others. To ensure she gives each of her 36 students her full attention, she uses a three-step ritual every time she enters the classroom: say hello, smile, and make eye contact. Anne-Marie sees innovation as a way of acknowledging and considering others. Indeed, kindness and respect foster acceptance. Attention also involves positive psychology, which means highlighting and valuing. According to neuroscience and Antoine Lutz's team, mindfulness meditation increases attention span and learning capacity. In her talk, Anne-Marie wants to share what she considers most important in her profession: the relationship with others. Having trained in various fields (sophrology, Nonviolent Communication, mindfulness meditation, professional coaching, and general psychology for children/adolescents and adults), Anne-Marie Lafont is currently a high school teacher of French literature and an academic trainer in the Aix-Marseille academy. She contributes to two modules in the Academic Training Plan: "Educating Gifted Students" and "Mindfulness Meditation - A Secular Practice." This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
