Using METER instead of gram, as a unit to determine the amount of yarn, is the closest to being accurate, and applicable to all yarn categories (you can always find meter info on the yarn label). Meanwhile using gram would be kinda risky, because with the same amount of grams you may get more or less yarn depending on the types of material (e.g. Cotton yarn is heavier than acrylic. So with 50gr of No. 4 cotton you'll get about 80 meters BUT with 50gr of No. 4 acrylic you'll get at least 100 meters). ✧ How to Check the Gauge?
