Trusting God's Plan Over Your Own

When God told Abraham that Sarah would have a son, Abraham laughed. Not because he didn't know God's promise. Not because he didn't know God's power. But because from a human perspective, it seemed impossible. Then Abraham asked God a question that revealed what was really in his heart: 👉 "If only Ishmael could receive your blessing!" Ishmael seemed like the obvious solution. He was already there. The waiting could end. The problem could be solved. But God had a different plan. God made it clear that His covenant would continue through Isaac, the son He had promised. This passage reminds us that faith is not only believing that God can fulfill His promises. Faith is trusting that He will fulfill them His way. Many of us have our own version of Ishmael. We have ideas about how God should answer our prayers, solve our problems, or fulfill His promises. But God's plans are often bigger, wiser, and better than our own. Abraham wanted what seemed reasonable. God chose what seemed impossible. And through that impossible promise, God continued His plan of redemption. Sometimes trusting God means letting go of our preferred outcome and believing that His way is better. #WalkingWithGod #Genesis17 #BibleStudy #Faith #TrustGod #GodsPlan #ScriptureInterpretsScripture #ChristianLiving
