Faith That Obeys

Genesis 17 ends with a powerful picture of faith. After God reaffirms His covenant, changes Abraham and Sarah's names, and identifies Isaac as the promised son, He gives Abraham a command. And Abraham responds immediately. There is no debate. No delay. No negotiation. God speaks, and Abraham obeys. This passage reminds us that genuine faith is more than believing God's promises are true. Genuine faith responds to what God says. Abraham's obedience did not earn God's covenant. God had already established the covenant by His grace. Abraham obeyed because he trusted the God who made the promise. The same is true for us today. Faith is not just something we believe. Faith is something we live. When God speaks through His Word, the question is not simply, "Do I agree?" The question is: 👉 "Will I obey?" Genesis 17 closes with a reminder that faith trusts God's promises, God's timing, and God's plan—and then responds accordingly. Faith that never affects how we live is not the kind of faith Abraham demonstrated. Genuine faith responds when God speaks. #WalkingWithGod #Genesis17 #FaithThatObeys #BibleStudy #ScriptureInterpretsScripture #ChristianLiving #FaithInAction #TrustAndObey
