The Compact Garden, Using and Sharing Resources,

Cork Environmental Forum, with support from Cork City Council and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage are delighted to invite you to view this series of informative videos. "How to Invite Biodiversity Into Your Urban Garden" introduces us into 6 very different gardens in Cork City and explores how nature is nurtured and encouraged in these spaces. Jean Downey shows Darragh around her compact urban garden that she has been tending for 15 years, slowly adding and building to it; saving seeds and propagating from a glass-house to replant the garden each year; using caught rain-water and plants to create her own feed. We see the benefit of using her own space to propagate native species that are then shared locally.
