In January 2026, at the request of the Kyivavtodor Commercial Court, the AVTOSTRADA Group of Companies began preparations for the major repair of the overpass near the Chernihivska metro station. The 49.8-meter-long reinforced concrete bridge structure of the "Strimka Lan" type from the late 1960s is in disrepair and is being replaced by a new double steel-reinforced concrete bridge 54.2 meters long. The passage on and under the overpass will be expanded: up to 4+4 lanes. The tram will be preserved. The bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure will be improved. On April 25, the dismantling of the tram tracks began. On May 2, the structure was closed to traffic and under it, and the overpass began to be dismantled. All old structures have been removed. In the pit from the Forest Range side, on pier 1, preparations are being made for concreting the crossbar nozzle. The frame and formwork of the left latticework of pillar 2 have been assembled (at the time of the video release - concreted) and the frame of the right one is being prepared. The frame of the right latticework of pillar 3 is being mounted in the pit opposite, the formwork of the body of pillar 4 is being assembled and the posts on the left latticework of pillar 2 have been concreted. 5 main beams of the span structures out of eight have been enlarged. Road workers have repaired the lower layer of the section of Brovarsky Avenue on the far approaches to the interchange and restored the ODR bypass scheme, as it was after the interchange was closed. The embankment of the direct approach is being expanded and the roundabouts-entrances from the side of the Forest Range are being filled in. They have begun to lay the ShchPS cushion. The gas network transfer is in progress. It is planned to resume traffic on the direct lanes of the interchange, as well as its roundabouts and entrances by the end of autumn 2026.
