Rome : tourisme, gangs et affrontements
With 10 million visitors per year, Rome is the third most visited city in Europe after Paris and London. Visiting the Eternal City is like going back in time... The Colosseum for the Roman Empire, the Villa Borghese and its Renaissance jewels or the Vatican and the famous St. Peter's Square where so many popes and pilgrims have paraded. This exceptional cultural heritage, associated with a unique art of living, has made Rome the world capital of the "dolce vita". But today, the city and its splendors are in danger. Rome must face the influence of the omnipresent mafia. Last year, the city council, deemed corrupt, was even dissolved. The new mayor has decided to clean house. He has just appointed an anti-mafia judge, Alfonso Sabella, to restore order in the capital. One of its missions: to tackle the criminal groups that have illegally appropriated the public beach of Ostia, Rome's seaside resort, and to destroy bars and restaurants built without planning permission. In the historic center, the authorities are also regaining ground against unscrupulous hoteliers, restaurateurs and street vendors, ready to do anything to make money in defiance of urban planning, road and hygiene regulations. There is also the problem of fake tourist guides, employed by real agencies and who scam holidaymakers. We have infiltrated one of the largest of them. Another problem fought by the new city hall is hooliganism and those nostalgic for fascism... We were able to enter the world of the Ultras of Lazio Rome, one of the two legendary football clubs in the capital. On the eve of a big match, they will join forces with the terrifying Polish hooligans to set the city on fire and blood! Neo-fascists, mafiosi and scammers, welcome to Rome at the time of the big clean-up. Director: JULIE BENZONI AND ELOISE FAGARD
