Renowned for his powerful, guttural voice and commanding stage presence, he became one of the most influential blues artists in history, shaping the sound of rock and roll through his recordings and performances. Awards: Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (1991), Blues Hall of Fame (1980) "Sitting on Top of the World" (also "Sittin' on Top of the World") is a country blues song written by Walter Vinson and Lonnie Chatmon.
