Holbrook’s Hidden Charm — Museums, Nature & a #bushranger

Holbrook gave us the kind of day that just rolls perfectly from one moment to the next. A solid pub lunch, a wander through the museums, and a creekside walk through Ian Geddes Reserve that felt like a little pocket of calm right off the highway. Dougie loved every minute of it, especially the sniff‑fest along the water. We wrapped it all up with a bakery cake that absolutely hit the spot. Holbrook isn’t a long stop, but it’s one of those places that sneaks up on you with good food, easy exploring, and a sweet finish that makes the whole day feel like a win. We’re part-time nomads cruising around in our vintage Windsor caravan, called Kevin. We are chasing history, nature and discovering new places across Australia. We travel with Dougie, our Aussie Terrier, who joins us on walks and is always happy to receive a friendly pat along the way. From free campsites to showgrounds and caravan parks, we offer practical tips on which places are dog-friendly and which ones might be a bit tricky if you're travelling with a furry companion.
