Sánchez entra en pánico: el segundo peor escenario posible para él, a punto de hacerse realidad
The PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) now considers its indictment as a legal entity in the Leire case, part of the party's deep state corruption scandal, inevitable. For Pedro Sánchez, this is the second-worst possible scenario. The first—his own personal indictment—is beginning to look increasingly likely. Indicting the party as a legal entity would represent a direct blow to the structure he controls. According to evidence provided by the Civil Guard's Central Operational Unit, this same structure was allegedly used to protect the interests of the PSOE and the government through a suspected criminal organization dedicated to illegal financing and obstructing judicial investigations. The accumulated evidence includes payments from party headquarters using falsified invoices, meetings held at its facilities, repeated communications between high-ranking officials and the network, and Leire Díez's role in obtaining confidential information and pressuring witnesses to change their testimonies. Santos Cerdán has been identified as the alleged leader of the network, while Sánchez's former chief of staff, Juan Manuel Serrano, has recently been implicated for his frequent contact with the scheme. The Socialist Party is attempting to portray the legal proceedings as a witch hunt, which amounts to accusing the investigating judges of malfeasance. However, the mountain of evidence—including testimonies from intermediaries indicating that some of the money was destined for the party—leads high-ranking Socialist officials to see no point in continuing to deny the seriousness of the situation and anticipates that the investigation "will only get worse." The formal request for indictment by the private prosecution is imminent. The upcoming appearances of Civil Guard commanders will determine the next procedural steps. Sánchez is panicking because he knows this process doesn't stop here and that the path to even more serious scenarios for him and the party he leads is already open.
