Kuo Lien Ying's PENG LU JI AN exercise
Today’s lesson is PENG LU JI AN two person exercise as taught by Kuo Lien Ting in Portsmouth Square, San Francisco as part of his Guang Ping Tai Chi Chuan pushing hands curriculum. This is relatively unknown as he mostly taught some advance practitioners this exercise. It is a two person rehearsed form. It teaches the principles and application of Peng, expansive power; Lu which is receiving and roll back; Ji which is press and follow in; and An which is deflect downward and step backwards. I show where the moves are in the Guang Ping Taiji form, and the sequence of the moves in the exercise. Once the practioners have learned the basics of the movements within the rehersed exercise, they then can apply the moves within free form single hand tui shou.
