At 263 meters long and with a displacement of 72,800 tons, it had been entrusted with a desperate mission: to reach Okinawa and become a floating battery, fighting to the end against the American invasion. To guide it to its final destination, it was accompanied by the light cruiser Yahagi and eight destroyers in total, all embarking on a mission from which its participants knew they would not return, but unaware that their final battle would be against the fury of 11 aircraft carriers and hundreds of planes that, that day, would unleash the most absolute hell that any ship would ever face.
