It's not surprising, then, that only one country outside the United States ever operated it. What is striking, however, is that that country is now one of its greatest enemies. Iran, and not only there, but also from this nation came the greatest F-14 ace in history, Khalil Zandi, a man who achieved 11 aerial victories at the controls of his trusty Tomcat, raising many questions worth asking. Why did the United States sell its then most advanced aircraft to Iran? How did Zandi achieve his victories? Who did he fight against and under what conditions? We're about to find out.
