Hidden paths and abandoned mines lie nestled among the mountains of Real de Catorce. We once again accompany Pedro Pablo Corpus, who takes us to explore one of the least-known mines in the entire region. It's a place few visitors have ever ventured into, usually only frequented by those who love extreme adventures and off-the-beaten-path locations. Before arriving at the mine, Pedro Pablo shows us some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the mountains of Real de Catorce. The entrance to this old mine is almost completely blocked by rocks and earth. To enter, one must crawl for several meters through a very narrow space, as if entering another world. And suddenly… everything changes. Inside the mine, there is a vast system of tunnels where one can walk upright. Pedro Pablo tells us that some years ago he took some foreign tourists to see this same mine. But back then, even he didn't know all the interior passages well. As they ventured through the tunnels, they became lost inside the mine. To make matters worse, their candles and lights began to run out. For several moments, they didn't know how to get back. Fear began to grip them all, especially at the thought of being trapped deep underground. Fortunately, after much searching, they managed to find their way out. And although it was one of the biggest scares Pedro Pablo remembers, those tourists ended up fascinated by the experience. Today, we too ventured into this hidden place beneath the mountains of Real de Catorce… an abandoned mine.
