Direct-to-Consumer Food Sales, Farm Expansion & Summer Projects

In this week's Growing Roots Farm Coffee Chat, we sit down and discuss some exciting developments happening around the farm. We talk about our direct-to-consumer food business, including food drops, farmers markets, and current challenges with lamb and beef inventory. Thankfully, we expect inventory to improve in the near future as more animals move through our system. We also share updates on several farm projects, including: ✅ Building new perimeter fencing ✅ Downsizing our garden to focus on efficiency ✅ Working to get our farm fresh eggs into a local retail store ✅ Managing livestock and daily farm chores ✅ Our biggest announcement yet—expanding onto additional leased pasture that could significantly increase the size of our operation and create new opportunities for future growth. If you enjoy regenerative farming, rotational grazing, direct-to-consumer food sales, homesteading, and following the growth of a family farm, be sure to subscribe and join us on the journey. What would you do with additional pasture acreage? Let us know in the comments! **Connect with us! The hubby and I went into debt to finance college educations in order to obtain careers in the "safe" field of healthcare. It wasn't until afterwards that we realized that the supposed safety came with many strings that began to strangle us. As our family grew, the demands on our time and energy were pulled towards a healthcare system that valued money over people. We felt overwhelmed, helpless and stressed. We wanted more. We wanted more time, more health, more family, more happiness. We were tired of giving our best energy to someone else with subpar results. We tried to change the system from within but found that we could make more of a difference on the outside. We began by starting to fix things for ourselves and our immediate family. We moved away from traditional education and decided to homeschool. This gave us flexibility with schedule and more time together as a family. The time is precious, and we love homeschooling. We purchased a small farm. We want to be good stewards of the land that we inhabit. We want to give back to the earth more than we take from it. We are practicing methods that encourage nutrient enhancement of the soil rather than depletion. We are improving our composting methods and rotational grazing skills. As we started making these changes, the kids thrived and were excited to expand the project beyond even our imaginations. They are now active participants in this life adventure that we have named Growing Roots Farm. #GrowingRootsFarm #CoffeeChat #RegenerativeAgriculture #DirectToConsumer #FarmLife #RotationalGrazing #SheepFarming #CattleFarming #Homestead #FarmExpansion Growing Roots Farm, farm expansion, leasing pasture land, rotational grazing, regenerative agriculture, direct to consumer food sales, farmers market farming, food drops, sheep farming, cattle farming, pasture management, Kentucky farm, family farm, farm business, selling farm products, local food movement, grass fed beef, pasture raised lamb, farm updates, homestead life, small farm business, expanding a farm, grazing livestock, farm coffee chat, regenerative livestock farming
