The Early Birds 21/7/26: Variety Of Birds Visiting A Countryside Garden For A Very Early Breakfast!

This is a livestream of the birds that visit the garden before I start the daily livestream, from around 5.30am onwards. The birds have been unusually quiet for some of this month, especially the blue tits. Usually, blue tits make up the majority of our visitors but recently, the blue tits have not been around as much. I presume that they have started nesting, which they apparently do in March and April. You are still seeing some, but much fewer and generally either earlier or later in the day. The starlings have also reduced in number but, unlike the blue tits, they are migratory birds so that is not so surprising. So through the day, you will probably be mainly seeing greenfinches, goldfinches, robins, woodpeckers, starlings and great tits, with more occasional visits from the blue tits (and sometimes the collared doves allow themselves to be seen onscreen but they are mainly behind/on the camera's!). The birds have a lovely harmony amongst themselves, with a variety of birds feeding together calmly (although the starlings can get a bit squabbly between themselves, they usually resolve this by stretching to look the tallest or opening their beaks the widest). We even have more than one robin living in peace, you can usually see them for their longest feeds at the start and end of each day but they visit throughout the day. The blue tits, coal tits, long tailed tits, willow tits and great tits are plentiful and totally delightful. I love watching how gracefully and socially they feed. They seem very friendly and playful and don’t fly away when I go into the garden. They are all lovely and you never know what you will see. I hope you enjoy watching them as much as I do.
