Crossing Borders, OER als Verbindung von Wirtschaft, beruflicher und akademischer Bildung - U:FF 26
Crossing Borders: OER as a Link Between Business, Vocational, and Academic Education: A discussion by Henning Klaffke, Axel Grimm, Rainer Karcher, and Anthea Wagner from the Open for Change:Stage of OERcamp & University of Hamburg at the University:Future Festival 2026 | CC BY 4.0. Education often takes place in silos: Vocational training, academic teaching, and practical experience operate separately. However, complex challenges such as the "Twin Transformation" require interconnected knowledge. Under the title "Crossing Borders," the NABIT project presents a radical approach: The alliance of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, the European University of Flensburg, and the practical partner Heartprint GmbH uses Open Educational Resources (OER) to break down these barriers. The central question is: How can an educational and consulting concept be designed that functions across all levels—from apprentices to university students to teacher training? We demonstrate that true innovation only arises from connecting these levels. /// The sixth edition of the University:Future Festival took place from June 22-24, 2026, under the motto "Under Pressure!" The hybrid festival was held in person in Berlin, Braunschweig, Essen, Graz, Hamburg, and Nuremberg. The University:Future Festival (U:FF) is the largest event dedicated to the (digital) future of academic education. Topics included AI, future skills, didactics, and strategic processes. Participants enjoyed a diverse program with approximately 280 presentations from around 550 speakers! The University:Future Festival is a collaboration between the Higher Education Forum on Digitalization, the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education, and the Stifterverband (Donors' Association for German Science). The partner stages were organized by the Emerging Tech Lab and the Media Lab of the Project House at TU Braunschweig, ORCA.nrw, Graz University of Technology, Ohm University and UTN Nuremberg, and the University of Hamburg in conjunction with OERCamp.
