Meet Lisbon's Punk Vegan Queen | Maria de Oliveira Dias
In this episode of People Of Lisbon, we meet Maria de Oliveira Dias - cookbook author, former TV presenter, sustainability advocate, mother, and one of Portugal's most recognizable voices in the vegan movement. Born in Viseu and now living in Lisbon, Maria takes us inside her colourful world of conscious living, vegan food, tattoos, punk spirit, theatre dreams, and the life-changing experience that reshaped her perspective forever. After surviving a coma and being told she had only a 50% chance of survival, Maria emerged with a very different outlook on life - less focused on achievement, more focused on presence, balance, and saying no when necessary. Along the way, we discuss veganism, sustainability, her television show Veggie, her favourite recipes, what she'd change about Lisbon if she were mayor for a day, and why she believes there's nothing difficult about choosing a vegan lifestyle. People of Lisbon is a documentary series exploring the fascinating people who call Lisbon home. / thelovefood Special thanks to our sponsors: Fresh Legal Group For tax and legal advice in Portugal https://fresh-legal.com/ United Medical Clinic Lisbon Fast and easy access to medical care for expats, tourists and locals https://lisbon.umc.clinic/ Moviinn Moving abroad made simple https://www.moviinn.com Practice Portuguese Learn Portuguese from Portugal as it's spoken across the country https://www.practiceportuguese.com
