Research carried out in the early 1960s did not confirm this information, but these were only surface works, and the object has not yet been excavated. However, due to human activity (e.g. stone selection), it seems that learning the history of a possible site would be difficult, or even impossible. Researchers indicate that in the early Middle Ages, to the west of the Cracow region, there was a sparsely populated area, which most likely was the original intertribal area, separating the settlements of the Vistulans from the Opolans inhabitants. This could suggest that a possible fortified settlement in Libiąż has a later metric (feudal era). Probably it was the period of the 12th-13th century and this facility was a territorial defense point and a place of shelter for the local population in case of danger. Due to the aforementioned lack of appropriate excavations, this hypothesis should be treated only as a guess.
