THE RETURN OF TINKER! Vintage Bolas's Citadel Combo + Flow State from MTG SOS | Magic: The Gathering

These matches were played on: 06/16/26 ///// DECK DESCRIPTION ///// Tinker into Bolas's Citadel is back, and Flow State is the reason why! The idea is straightforward — use Tinker to cheat Bolas's Citadel into play, then either sacrifice 10 non-land permanents to drain your opponent for 10, or take infinite turns with Manifold Key and Time Vault. Getting to 10 permanents is easier than it looks: Hullbreacher plus Time Twister generates a pile of Treasures, and then you feed them all to the Citadel. The deck runs the full suite of broken Vintage mana — Black Lotus, Moxen, Mana Crypt — so you can get there fast. The reason this archetype is viable again comes down to Flow State and Stock Up. For years, Lurrus of the Dream-Den was the card advantage engine everyone built around. Now you have 12 draw spells between Flow State, Stock Up, and Lórien Revealed that accelerate off your artifact mana and turn on quickly — especially when you're cycling Lórien Revealed to unlock Flow State on turn two. You don't need Lurrus anymore, and that frees up the deck to slot in Bolas's Citadel instead. This list is built off the NYSE second-place finish but with a few changes — four Leyline of the Void in the sideboard in place of the more cutesy options, and one fewer Hurkyl's Recall.
