The ultimate dream road trip is officially ON! Welcome to Day 1 of our epic journey from Jaipur to Ladakh! 🏔️🚗💨✨ After months of dreaming and planning, Shreya and I finally started packing our heavy winter gear and travel essentials for the mountains. The excitement officially kicked into high gear when Hunny arrived at our place to pick us up. We headed over to his house to join the rest of the crew—Anil Jiju and Vartika! 🚗 Loading the XUV700 Diesel & The All-Night Marathon: Our ride for this massive Himalayan expedition is Rohit's beast—the Mahindra XUV700 Diesel. By evening, we strategically packed all our heavy luggage into the XUV700’s boot space, and around 8:00 PM, we finally hit the highway! 🛣️🌌 🗺️ The Route Breakdown (Jaipur to Manali): Pitstop 1: A late-night fuel-up for ourselves with a delicious dinner at Hotel Highway Prince. 🍽️🔥 Pitstop 2: Reached Chandigarh in the dead of night to fill up the XUV700's diesel tank to prepare for the hill climb. ⛽⛽ The Destination: After a grueling but beautiful non-stop night drive through changing landscapes, we finally rolled into the mountains, reaching Manali by 4:00 PM the next evening! 🏔️⛅ 🏡 Riverside Peace at Neha Homestay: To avoid the heavy commercial crowd, we booked a cozy, peaceful stay at Neha Homestays, located about 15 km before the main Manali town. Before crashing, we managed to capture some stunning, cinematic group photos right by the roaring Beas River! 🌊📸 We wrapped up Day 1 with a quick late lunch, a massive power nap, and an early bedtime to prep our bodies for the legendary mountain passes waiting for us tomorrow.
