Welcome to Day 3 (Part 1) of our Jaipur to Ladakh expedition. 🏔️🚗💨✨ We woke up fresh in Padum after last night's terrifying dark drive and got ready to explore the stunning, untouched Zanskar Plains. The views right from the morning were unmatched, but the real adventure started just an hour into our drive when we hit the Zangla Check Post. 🚫 The Checkpoint Dilemma: The route from Zangla allows you to reach Leh in just about 3 hours! However, there was a massive catch—today was a Tuesday, and this restricted highway was officially supposed to open only on Sundays. Just as we thought we’d have to turn back and take a massive detour, some incredibly kind locals from Jammu & Kashmir stepped in and helped us clear the check post! 🤝🇮🇳 🌊 Driving Along the Stunning Zanskar River: What followed was hands down one of the most mesmerizing drives of the entire trip. For kilometers on end, the mighty, turquoise-blue Zanskar River was running aggressively right alongside our car. Aside from a rugged 15 km patch of raw off-roading where the Mahindra XUV700 truly flexed its suspension, the newly laid roads were buttery smooth. I made sure to pull out the camera and capture these surreal, sweeping landscapes in a high-contrast cinematic edit that you have to see to believe! 📸🎞️ The landscapes are shifting fast as we get closer to Leh.
