In the area between Khe Ngang Lake and Hon Vuon Mountain (Hue), Goi Vlog discovered an ancient tomb nestled quietly on a hillside. Unlike many other tombs of Nguyen Dynasty officials, which feature imposing gates, screens, or stone statues, this place is simply a mound of earth covered in green grass and a stone stele with faded Chinese characters. Through reading and deciphering the inscription, the tomb's owner was identified as General Nguyen Dien – a loyal military commander under Emperor Minh Mang. Born a common soldier, he gradually achieved many victories, rising through the ranks to become Commander of Binh Thuan, Commander of the Vanguard Battalion, and Admiral of the Son Bac Military District. After his heroic death on the battlefield, he was posthumously awarded the title of Commander of the Five Armies. What makes this tomb special is not only the general's background but also the simplicity and solitude of its resting place. After nearly two centuries, his heroic deeds seem to have faded into the past, leaving only the old stone stele silently recounting the story of a soldier who dedicated his life to serving the king and defending the country.
